The long road
to code

The first time I sat down at a computer, something clicked. While other kids played outside, I played at understanding how things worked behind the screen. That curiosity never left me. By the mid-90s I was deep into the early internet, learning by taking things apart and putting them back together. At one point the curiosity went a bit too far — I managed to hack into Telia's servers, not with malicious intent, just because I wanted to understand how they worked.

I became a translator for the FreeBSD project, helping make the documentation available to a wider audience.

I served as an administrator for AHBL.org, working on the front line against internet abuse.

Life took a turn. I stepped away from tech to work as a close-protection officer and bodyguard. For over a decade I worked in high-pressure environments where attention to detail, threat assessment, and staying calm under stress weren't optional — they were the job. It was a world away from servers and code, but the discipline and situational awareness it built would prove surprisingly useful later.

My love for computers and servers was simply too strong to ignore. I started gravitating back, experimenting with hosting setups, spinning up VPS instances, and catching up on everything that had changed in my absence.

What started as curiosity became an obsession. I began learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — not from a classroom, but by building real things. Every evening was spent designing layouts, writing code, and studying how good websites actually work.
